The thigh lift is an intervention in cosmetic surgery which aims to remove excess skin from the inner side of the thigh. This excess often appears in men and women after a powerful diet or even gradual aging.
Associated in most cases with liposuction, the thigh lift allows to find beautiful thighs well firmed and toned. To benefit from it, do not hesitate to consult the team of competent surgeons of Obesity & Aesthetic Surgery.
The thigh lift intervention
The thigh lift procedure is performed in the operating room under general anesthesia or under spinal anesthesia. It lasts two hours and depending on the degree of correction, surgeons offer two possible lifting techniques :
- Medial thigh lift (or internal lift):
An incision is made in the groin area, and any excess fat and skin is excised along the inner side of the thigh. The area from the groin to the knee is reshaped and the procedure is repeated for the other thigh.
- The lateral thigh lift (or external lift):
This is a more complex procedure, usually involving the shaping of the buttocks as well as the outer thighs and the removal of more tissue. Scarring is more extensive, and the skin will be less elastic after surgery, so the weight should be maintained.
Depending on the volume of excess and sagging thighs, our surgeons choose the lifting technique that best suits your needs.
In both cases, the thigh lift intervention lasts an average of two hours and requires a week’s stay.
