Surgery for buttock augmentation
The operation is performed in the operating room under general or epidural anesthesia and lasts an average of two hours, depending on the patient’s profile. The buttock volume increase is possible thanks to two techniques:
Buttock augmentation by fitting silicone prostheses:
The scar sits in the gluteal fold, the surgeon places a prosthesis whose thickness is equal to that of the gluteus maximus. The scar is hidden in the gluteal fold.
Buttock augmentation by fat reinjection (lipofilling or fat transfer):
This technique is done in two stages:
Liposuction (extracting fat from the patient’s body) and filtration of the fat obtained
Reinjection of the fat obtained in the buttocks. The reinjected fat generally loses its volume after the operation which pushes the surgeon to inject fat in large quantities.
Duration of stay
For buttock augmentation, the length of stay is 13 days, distributed as follows:
- 5 days for fat injection
- 8 days for prostheses
Post-operative suites
The consequences of lipofilling are simple. Although the results are pleasant, the patient should lie on her stomach or on her side, immediately after fitting prostheses. During the first 5 days, walking is possible but remains a little painful.
After a week, the patient can sit painlessly over a buoy in the car and on the plane.
